VIEWING ON A PC

Q1. What do I need to view the IPTV stream on my PC.
A. You will need a computer installed with Windows Media Player. This is the software that your computer uses to play video. For the best results, you will need to have version 9.0 of Windows Media Player installed. If you're not sure, then download the latest version and install it anyway.
For the latest version of Windows Media Player, it can be found here.
Always download Microsoft software direct to from their site or trusted sites and never use unknown links from other sites.

Q2. I have the latest vesion of Windows Media Player but I can't see anything playing on the tv/pc screen.
A. GDB uses the latest software to play tv over the internet. You may need to update your computer to the latest version of Internet Explorer. If you have version 5.5 or later the stream should work, if you're not sure, then download the latest version and install it anyway.

If you have updated Windows Media Player & Internet Explorer and you are still having problems, try re-starting your computer and then re-launch the channel you are trying to play.
If you are still having problems, you will need to check whether your computer meets the following minimum system requirements. Pentium 3 or similar with 512MM RAM, 500MB Hard Drive space, 64MB graphics card.

Q3. I am getting a picture but it is jumpy, blocky or freezes.
A. IPTV plays at different connection speeds. It is worth checking your line speed by going to the following link and do a line speed check. www.adslguide.net. You may find your connection speed is much lower than your internet provider is telling you. You really need a genuine line speed of 700kbs but for best results 1300kbs is preferred.

Q4. Can I view on a Mac computer.
A. Yes, but for it to function correctly you will need to have Panther OS X 10.3 minimum with the latest Windows Media Player plug-in installed. You can download it here.

Q1. What is IPTV and how does it work on my TV set?
A. GDB is one of the largest Internet Protocol TeleVision networks available for home television viewing. IPTV is TV to TV using standard broadband conections thus making it possible for 93% of the worlds broadband users to receive its streams. Using the IPTV and Microsoft Windows Media Player, the video stream is delivered to your home television over any broadband Internet connection. This means that if you already have a high-speed Internet connection, like a DSL or Cable modem, then you're probably ready to go.

Q2. Are there any minimum requirements?
A. A broadband Internet connection (DSL or Cable modem with a 1Mb minimum download speed) a modern Television with Video Inputs/Scart or similar. By adding GDB's set top box (STB) all the functions normally viewed on a PC will be viewed on your TV without complicated browsers.

Q3. Can I browse the internet with my TV ?
A. Yes, using the web or browse button on your STB remote control you are presented with an address bar where you can type in web addresses. You can either use the optional infrared keyboard or the text facility on the remote control. Some remote controls also feature a simple joystick built in for moving the mouse around the screen making the experience easier to operate and more enjoyable.
